East of the CBD and shaded by some of Pretoria's oldest jacaranda avenues, Brooklyn is a suburb of Edwardian and mid-century homes — many of them sympathetically converted into the small cafés and restaurants along its side streets, a short walk from the University of Pretoria and the embassy belt beyond Muckleneuk. For orientation before that visit: made-to-measure shading in these streets is anywhere from R1,000 to R7,500 the square metre, fitted. Plain indoor blinds occupy the lower half of that; systems motorised outside the glass occupy the upper. Small windows carry a minimum charge, and the real figure is set once your openings have been measured.

Usually not. We favour inside-mount brackets sized to the actual recess, or a light outside-mount fixed to the surrounding wall rather than the sash itself where the timber is fragile. The free measure tells us which suits your specific frame before anything is ordered.
A 3–5% openness sunscreen mesh keeps the garden or street view while cutting glare and UV — the standard answer once jacaranda season passes. For bedrooms that need real darkness, a blockout roller or blockout cellular blind does the rest.
Day-night blinds and cellular blinds both hold privacy from eye-level passers-by while still letting daylight through, which suits a street-facing living or dining room better than a full blockout roller.
Wind ratings are real limits, not marketing. Specify the awning with a motor and wind sensor and it retracts itself before a gust can catch it open — that's the difference between an awning that lasts and one that doesn't.
Chain and cord tensioners are fitted as standard on every corded blind, and we'll steer nurseries and kids' rooms toward wand, cordless or motorised options with nothing left dangling within reach.
